Every Friday, right around the same altar where St. Gregory’s offers communion, we give away free groceries to 400 hungry families. We provide literally tons of fresh fruits and vegetables, rice, beans, pasta, cereal, bread; and we share our peaceful, beautiful sanctuary with people from all over the city. The pantry is run entirely by volunteers–most of them people who came to get food and stayed to help out. At the pantry, just as in our liturgies, all are welcome, and everyone is encouraged to participate fully.
To volunteer, come any time on Friday from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM; we share lunch around 11 AM. To get groceries, come from 12noon-3:00PM.
